In the documentary "Eames: An Architect and Painter (which I saw today), Paul Schrader (Screenwriter;Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Mosquito Coast, et al, Director and Critic) talks of his attraction to the Eames Office, and how he was called upon to observe and critique what they were doing. I managed to find Schrader's 1970 article from Film Quartely, about the use of the medium within the studio practice.
I found this lovely little video thanks to McFilter and Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino.

Jamie talking about his two very lovely and minimal products for Resident, which will be in Milano this year.
The UB40 I grew up with had gone more mainstream pop, and had therefore lost a lot of credibility with my generation. This is the UB40 I didn't know - crew cuts and Fred Perry shirts, more akin to The Style Council or The Specials - which I am feeling.
This track was on the radio today, and although the live version doesn't have the vocal tightness of the engineered cut, it's still a great, great track - which I think was their first release in the UK.
I am also feeling Ali Campbell's cardigan in this clip.
I love the way a lot of modern skate obstacles are a mix of art and architecture, rather than just looking like a skatepark, they are more like a sculpture or installation. This one happened in Paris, courtesey of Adidas and Rich Holland, who designed and built it. Art shows and other activities happened over the weekend, and people like Silas Baxter-Neale and Benny Fairfax killed it on the whizz-plank.
